This incredible spot for Telstra was the perfect opportunity to showcase not only our bespoke sci-fi sound design techniques, but also how comedy can shape the sound of a scene. One of the more challenging aspects of this spot was finding the right reverb to fit the incredible set design created by Bear Meets Eagle On Fire. It needed to be large and reverberant to match the spaceship, but subtle enough so the composition wasn’t drowned out. We inevitably landed on a perfect balance that complimented Steve’s thunderous vocal performance, making him sound menacing atop his ivory tower, and then pulling back for his quieter, comedic dialogue exchanges with the crew.
